AgroCenta competing at Seedstars 2018

Accra (Ghana), February 2018. GreenTec Capital Partners is very pleased to report that AgroCenta will be traveling to Lausanne, Switzerland to take part in the Seedstars Summit 2018 Pitch Competition. The company was selected from more than 6,000 applicants to join the 65+ start-ups competing for an investment of up to $1 Million US.

Seedstars World is a part of the Swiss Seedstars group which runs a global tech start-up competition covering more than 65 countries in emerging and developing markets. Seedstars’ mission is to positively impact people’s live in emerging markets through the promotion of technology and investment in entrepreneurship. The Entrepreneurship Forum for Emerging Markets, Seedstars Summit 2018 will take place on April 12th, 2018 in Lausanne, Switzerland. The event will bring together start-ups and entrepreneurs for more than 75 countries with investors, government officials, corporate innovators, and CEOs from Africa, Asia, LATAM, CEE, and the MENA regions. The Summit will also include breakout sessions, panel discussions and specialized workshops on fintech, edtech, digital health, agritech, IoT, hardware, social networking, clean tech, and more.

AgroCenta was selected for the Seedstars Summit, after being selected as the top start-up at Seedstars Accra last fall, additionally receiving an investment of $50,000 US. AgroCenta and the other selected start-ups will take part in a series of bootcamps as well as an investor summit leading up to the Summit itself on April 12th. The start-ups will compete for prizes worth $1 Million US, including an equity investment of up to $500,000 US for the Global Seedstars Winner. This continues a streak of strong showing at international competitions for AgroCenta, including recently being recognized as a winner in the Environment and Green Energy award at the World Summit Awards.
