GreenTec is very pleased to report that AgroCenta has been selected among the African finalists for the MIT Inclusive Innovation Challenge. The Inclusive Innovation Challenge (IIC) is the flagship initiative of the MIT Initiative on the Digital Economy (IDE). The challenge awards over one million dollars in prizes each year to Inclusive Innovators: entrepreneurs around the world that are using technology to reinvent the future of work to create greater shared prosperity.

AgroCenta was selected as one of nine finalists from Africa for their innovative agricultural platform which uses technology to connect rural farmers with national markets, helping them increase their earnings.

This year’s award categories are Skills Development & Opportunity Matching, Income Growth & Job Creation, Technology Access, and Financial Inclusion. AgroCenta is competing in the technology access category for a top prize of $250,000 USD.

This represents the latest in a series of impressive award performances by AgroCenta and the GreenTec team wishes the team great success in the Inclusive Innovation Challenge!
