Kigali (Rwanda), September 2018. Thomas Festerling will be traveling to Kigali, Rwanda in early September to take part in the finals of Pitch AgriHack a due-diligence trip with one of our investees. Thomas will attend the African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF) 2018 to act as a judge at the Pitch AgriHack finals and as a guest speaker at the forum.
The AGRF is considered one of the most important forums for African agriculture, pulling together stakeholders in the agricultural landscape to discuss practical actions and share lessons that will move African agriculture forward. The forum is organized by the Alliance for a Green Revolution in Africa (AGRA) in partnership with different international institutions, including CTA and the government of Rwanda. The 2018 AGRF, themed Lead, Measure, Grow, will take stock, evaluate actions, and learn from compelling evidence across the continent, presented by many of the most inspiring leaders in the sector. First established in 2010, following a three-year series of African Green Revolution Conferences (AGRC) held in Oslo, Norway from 2006-2008, the AGRF has emerged as Africa’s leading “platform of agriculture platforms” that brings together a range of critical stakeholders in the African agriculture landscape to discuss and commit to programs, investments, and policies that can counter the major challenges affecting the agriculture sector on the continent.
