GreenTec Invests into the Nomad Group, an impactful Namibian wellness brand.

spa attendants

Windhoek (Namibia) and Frankfurt (Germany), August 2019. GreenTec is very pleased to announce our investment into the Windhoek-based Nomad Group, operators of the Nomad Spa and Spa Academy in Namibia’s capital city. Nomad employs an impactful training and recruitment program, training women with disabilities and from disadvantaged backgrounds to become wellness attendants and gain sustainable employment. The company also has its own signature line of organic wellness products distributed under the Makai brand, drawing on a rich local heritage and all locally sourced raw ingredients.

With the growth of tourism in Africa and the growth of the African middle class, the African hospitality sector is projected to experience steady growth. Well positioned to bring a uniquely African touch to the hospitality and wellness world, Nomad is a distinctly African wellness movement. The company brings all that is truly African to the world of wellness in novel, innovative ways while honouring age-old traditional healing rituals and values from generations past. Nomad’s impactful mission is to nurture the untapped potential and transform the lives of undervalued women by training them in the ancient art of holistic treatments.

Nomad offers several services including B2C wellness services and products as well as B2B training services and franchising opportunities with the Nomad brand. To further grow its impact and scale its novel training program, the company is in the planning stages of developing an online training platform to empower more disadvantaged women to become trained wellness attendants and achieve sustainable livelihoods.
