Farmcrowdy launches new investment platform Crowdyvest

Crowdyvest team

Lagos (Nigeria) and Frankfurt (Germany), August 2019. GreenTec is very pleased to report that Farmcrowdy has launched a new Nigerian investment platform called Crowdyvest. The platform follows the consolidation of Farmcrowdy’s subsidiaries Farmgate and Agricsquare under the Farmcrowdy name and will offer investors the opportunity to invest and earn into a diversified range of products with an impact focus.

Crowdyvest replicates the Farmcrowdy model of connecting sponsors with entrepreneurs to mutual benefit focusing on a diversified range of return-bearing sponsorship opportunities. The platform is explicitly impact focused, aiming to promote and grow opportunities that contribute to social and environmental targets of the UN’s 17 SDGs. Describing the drive behind the new platform Farmcrowdy CEO Onyeka Akumah said “Having looked at all the activities with our sponsors, we have decided to create Crowdyvest, as an impact driven platform which will allow our Agric sponsors to look at the entire SDGs and seize opportunities the platform is presenting and sponsor…We have been able to successfully implement a business model in one of the most challenging sectors of the world, driving growth in Agriculture (food and security), and now we intend to implement this across other sectors of the economy while having a direct impact on the achievement of United Nation’s SDGs…”.

The launch successfully migrated Farmcrowdy’s existing sponsors to the platform and the company aims to new sponsors with its wider range of project to support. Thus, every sponsor can continue to safely sponsor farms on via Farmcrowdy as well as have the opportunity to browse and support additional portfolio products and sponsorship opportunities offered on the Crowdyvest platform. The Crowdyvest platform, according to the company, differs from all other investment platforms as it shares its sponsorship risk with its sponsors. This means that both Crowdyvest and its sponsors will have their monies used to grow the businesses of the opportunities listed on the platform.

The consolidation of Farmcrowdy’s subsidiaries will grow Farmcrowdy’s size and allow it to implement a seamless approach from farm production to commodities sales and trading, creating a seamless integration of the company’s existing agricultural value chain. Farmcrowdy will continue to operate as before but will now exist along with other opportunities for sponsorship at the company level on the new Crowdyvest Platform. The company’s team is in the process of developing opportunities across a range of sectors including education, real-estate, transportation, and others. In addition to Farmcrowdy, Crowdyvest users can also support PlentyWaka, an innovative bus sharing/hailing app.

GreenTec applauds the companies achievements in launching the new platform and looks forward to what innovative and impactful opportunities the Crowdyvest platform.
