The Powerstove

The SET100 is an annual compilation of the 100 best start-ups of the Start Up Energy Transition Award. It contains the most innovative and promising start-ups that make the energy transition a fundamental component of their innovation.

Powerstove entered the Startup Energy Transition awards competing with their IOT-powered clean-burning cookstove. The stove is designed to use the company’s innovative clean-burning pellets to power the stove unit for cooking and generating electricity. The stove units are capable 50 watts of continuous power, providing enough energy to charge phones, lights, a camera, and more. Surplus electricity is stored in an attached Lithium-ion battery allowing users can charge additional devices via USB in real-time whenever they need it; even when the fire is off. Targeting the large market for cookstoves in Sub-Saharan Africa, Powerstove’s innovation works to reduce CO2 emissions as well as to provide small-scale energy generation helping to address unmet electricity demand for rural Africans.

Powerstove will join the other SET100 candidates in pitching virtually during the Berlin Energy Dialigue 21 conference on March 16-17, 2021 for the next round of the Start Up Energy Transition Awards.

GreenTec is very proud to see Powerstove’s impactful solution be listed among an international group of innovative solutions working towards the energy transition.
