Frankfurt (Germany) and Nairobi (Kenya), May 2021. GreenTec is pleased to report that the partnership between Boreal Light and EBARA Pumps Europe is already bringing needed fresh, hygienic water to the faculty and students at the Machakos School for the Physically Disabled (MSPD) in Machakos, Kenya. The Machakos project is a part of Boreal Light’s ambitious push to launch Kenya’s larges water desalination deployment.

“The children are happy because they are now getting fresh water,” said Mr. Ndeto Ndunda, Head Teacher at MSPD.

EBARA is a Japanese based multi-national specializing in the production of environmental and industrial machinery, and is providing funding for the deployment of Boreal Light’s Winture® water desalination systems at MSPD. The partnership has been implemented on the ground by company’s African subsidiary, WaterKiosk LTD.

Ms. Charity Kioko, MSPD Nurse, is thrilled with project’s results. “The water project has benefitted us in so many ways.”

Not only the school is benefitting, but so are the neighbours.  “The project is helping us a lot. The water is also affordable to everyone,” said Mr. Boniface Makau.  Another neighbour echoed that sentiment. “The water is so clean and we really enjoy it!” said Mr. Fidelis Musili.
